CLIC Sargent's London and south east fundraising team has been busy over the past few months recruiting representatives to be CLIC Sargent’s eyes, ears and voice within their local community.
Recruiting CLIC Sargent representatives
CLIC Sargent began its search for representatives towards the end of 2013. The role was advertised on our website, as well as on external volunteer recruitment websites and promoted to our service teams to share with the families they work closely with.
Once the recruitment stage was over and fundraising managers had spoken to, or met with those who expressed an interest in the role it was time to organise a training day. Saturday 15 March saw the first CLIC Sargent Representative Training Workshop at our Head Office in London. The workshop was attended by 12 people from across London and the south east, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.
The representatives each had their own personal reason for choosing to be a CLIC Sargent Representatives, and these vary from having no personal connection to our work to young people currently receiving support from CLIC Sargent and family members with a personal connection to CLIC Sargent. The workshop explained the CLIC Sargent Representative role in more detail, ways they can raise our awareness and tips on speaking to the public.
Fundraising Managers Elizabeth Charing, Hannah Auer and Lucia Martinez led the training workshop on the day. Area Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, Elizabeth Charing said: “It was a great day with lots of interaction between the representatives and ideas flowing, which was fantastic. We’ve received some wonderful feedback from our representatives and we are looking forward to working closely together to increase the awareness of CLIC Sargent in the south of England.”
If you are on Twitter you can follow the activities of our new representatives using the hashtag #CSReps.
