Students from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr College have taken part in a fun run and zumbathon to raise money for CLIC Sargent in support of a former student.
The students have managed to raise an incredible £2,913.63 to help support children and young people with cancer.
Pupils raise £2,913.60!
Former pupil, Astrid Morgan, was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and had to give up her place at university to undergo treatment. Astrid’s brother, Josh, is still a student at the school. Thankfully her treatment was successful and she has now returned to university to complete her degree.
Sian Elin Griffiths, Assistant Head, said: "Ysgol Plasmawr prides itself on the continuous way pupils respond to appeals to support local, national and international charities.
"Our pupils responded fantastically to Astrid's story of her battle with Hodgkins Lymphomia and the support that the charity gave to her and her family during her treatment and recovery.
"We are delighted to have been able to support your charity and wish you continued success in the future. Diolch!"
Ceris Bradley, Fundraising Manager, said: "I can’t believe how much they have raised – absolutely fantastic! And so lovely to hear they are fundraising in support of a former student. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the events and to everyone who took part."
