The house was full of families enjoying a well-deserved break while a team of CLIC Sargent elves were packaging up the Magic Reindeer Food for children to sprinkle out on Christmas Eve, so the reindeer can see which houses to visit from the sky.

But all of a sudden the team were interrupted by some hungry reindeers - it seems that the food is more magical than CLIC Sargent realised.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Katie Grier said: "We heard a noise on the roof and didn't know what was going on so we opened the door and were greeted by some very friendly but unexpected guests.

"One of our helpers had accidentally spilled some of the food on the ground and we didn't realise just how magical it was until Dancer and Prancer turned up.

"The reindeer didn't appear to want to leave, and they stayed and spent some time with the families at Malcolm Sargent House, but Santa was hot on the heels of the escapees and arrived to usher them back home to the Ayrshire Reindeer Centre to rest."

Santa said: "Luckily I have a tracker on these two and was able to catch them before they got too far. They absolutely love CLIC Sargent's Magic Reindeer Food so I had a feeling I knew where to find them.

"Now they have had a taste of it though they will be looking out for it on Christmas Eve, so I am asking children all over Scotland to please not forget to get your magic food from CLIC Sargent and remember to sprinkle it out on Christmas Eve for all of my reindeer as they will be eagerly looking for it."

A huge thank you to the Ayrshire Reindeer Centre for making the day so magical. Picture courtesy of Alister Firth Photography.
