The Milton Keynes branch of Marks & Spencer has launched its new charity partnership with CLIC Sargent by raising an amazing £1,100 on the first weekend of fundraising.
The branch has chosen CLIC Sargent as it's Charity of the Year for 2014/15 after a staff member received support from CLIC Sargent when her child was diagnosed with cancer.
Staff held a static bike race in store, with each team cycling 380 miles, the distance from Milton Keynes to Blackpool!
Simon Caffrey, Store Manager said: “We’re delighted to be supporting CLIC Sargent as our local store charity this year and to have started the partnership with such a successful event.
"We are looking forward to raising as much money as possible to help such a worthwhile cause, and want to thank our customers for their support.”
CLIC Sargent fundraising manager Benjamin Herbert said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the Marks & Spencer is supporting CLIC Sargent.
"We really appreciate the hard work and generosity that I know will go into this partnership to raise as much as possible – every penny raised will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
