Staff members from TalkTalk Technology are set to give Cadishead Primary School in Manchester a make-over whilst raising funds in support of children and young people with cancer.
The team will be dressed as superheroes whilst they transform gardens, play equipment, and railings.
Christine Hamer, Project Manager at TalkTalk explains that the driving force behind the school makeover, the real superhero of the day is an eight year old boy called Finn.
Finn is the inspiration for the makeover. His brother and parents lives were turned upside down when he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of five.
Christine said: “I’m a Governor at my local school and this all started as a suggestion about me getting some volunteers to paint the school railings!
"Meeting Finn and his family last year made me want to do something to help a cancer charity but I didn’t know what or how.
"I looked up CLIC Sargent and that sealed it before I even knew that they had helped Finn.
"I thought about the school and thought maybe there’s an opportunity here and that’s how SchoolMakeover4CLIC was born!"
School makeover plans
The team will be painting a racetrack fit for a formula one driver, updating a water play area, painting railings and playground equipment, and building a bug hotel.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Vicki Moore said: “Christine had come up with a great way to support both a local school and CLIC Sargent. We’re very grateful for her support; she definitely deserves a superhero costume!”
Make a donation to the Schoolmakeover4CLIC JustGiving page and help the team reach it's fundraising target a £1,000.
