In celebration of its 10th year in business, Credo Asset Finance has smashed its fundraising target in just 10 months.
During the past 10 months, the intrepid team have organised a number of events and challenges including white water rafting, a golf day, a charity auction and Christmas Bake Off – all to raise money for CLIC Sargent and to thank its valued customers for their continued support.
In a bid to reach the target ahead of schedule, the big-hearted finance firm’s own Frances Brown challenged herself to the Wymondham New Year’s Day 10K run, which saw donations flood in to the Team’s Just Giving page.
She said: “I’m so proud of the team for achieving this target ahead of schedule.
"It’s been a gruelling 10 months, but has also bought us closer as a team and we had quite a lot of fun along the way!
"I’m glad that my personal challenge of a 10k run meant we were even closer to the target going into 2016.”
Not satisfied with the firm’s incredible fundraising achievements, managing director Simon Gray is topping off the 10th Birthday celebrations by taking on his greatest challenge to date, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise further funds for CLIC Sargent.
Simon said: “With just six weeks to go until the biggest challenge of my life, I’m starting to take it very seriously.
"I’ve even given up alcohol and am in the gym every day, but it's certainly not going to be easy; Martina Navratilova failed, so that might tell you it's no walk in the park.
“It's been a dream of mine for years to trek Kilimanjaro and anything we raise through donations will go straight to those who need it; supporting CLIC Sargent’s vital work with young people with cancer and their families.”
Local MP Chloe Smith even felt moved to commend Credo Asset Finance on their contributions to the community.
Miss Smith said: “It’s great to see a local company achieve such good things for an important cause.
"I congratulate the whole team on what they’re doing. I tried Kilimanjaro myself for charity too and I wish Simon well!”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “The passion and enthusiasm shown by the team to improve the lives of children and young people with cancer is truly inspiring and on behalf of the charity, I’d like to thank Simon for choosing to support CLIC Sargent.”
