During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, CLIC Sargent focused on the financial impact of cancer.
On average, parents spend £600 extra per month if their child has cancer. We don’t think this is right or fair. So thank you to everyone who has campaigned with us, fundraised for us and helped spread the word in September (and beyond!). Here are some highlights:
You used the power of cake to raise money
Many of you held bake sales to raise money and company WorldFirst baked this golden cake. Their London office raised over £500 for young cancer patients.
You shopped ‘til you dropped
You did all sorts of things to raise £170 - the same amount as the grant we give to families after a child is diagnosed with cancer. Becky, from Kings Somborne, went the extra mile and ran, walked and cycled 170K, raising nearly £800!
You were CLIC Sargent campaigners
Thousands of you signed our Cancer Costs petition urging the government to take action on the costs of cancer. You can still become a CLIC Sargent campaigner by signing our petition and emailing your MP.
You were superheroes!
Staff of our corporate partners, including Lidl UK (who kindly sponsored CCAM) J D Wetherspoon, Network Rail and Wallis held bucket collections, sold pin badges, matched donations, delivered hampers of goodies to CLIC Sargent Homes from Home and more.
More ways to support us
There’s still more to be done to ensure CLIC Sargent can be there for every family that needs us, so thank you for your ongoing support.
