The Rotarians of Sturminster Newton, Dorset, have been busy fundraising for CLIC Sargent over the last year, donating £4,000 to support our work with children and young people with cancer.
How did they do it?
The funds raised by this hardworking Rotary group were mainly from its fantastic Santa Stride. In December, the town was a sea of red and white as 425 men, women, children and horses got into the festive spirit to raise £2,800.
The group also worked hard to raise funds at the annual Cheese Festival and other activities throughout the year, reaching a total of £4,000.
The cheque was presented by the Club President Mike Wood, along with members of the Santa Stride Committee; John Dimmer, Phil Mahoney and Des O’Connor.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Stephanie Cherington-Rimmell said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the Sturminster Newton community. Not only have the Rotarians worked hard to make such a fantastic donation, but they have really helped to raise vital awareness about our work in the area.
“This active Rotary Club has really made a difference to CLIC Sargent and we are looking forward to more events and activities in the future.”
