Carl Reid, from Reading, organised a fantastic charity football match, raising over £1,800 for CLIC Sargent.
Carl Reid is a top fundraiser for CLIC Sargent, and set himself a new challenge of organising the Darren Ball Charity Football Match in Reading.
Many of the players were from the South Reading Football Club, including Carl, his nephew Bradley and friend Darren Ball.
Carl’s nephew Bradley is currently being helped by CLIC Sargent and Darren is receiving treatment for cancer.
Carl said: “We had a fantastic day. I am truly speechless with regards to the generosity of people. We raised a staggering £1,816.
"The Bradley Goddard family team won 4-2 against the CLIC Sargent supporters. A big thank you to everyone who came along. I am looking forward to next year’s match, where we hope to keep the shield for being the winning team again!”
An amazing family of fundraisers
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Liz Blunt said: “I am so pleased that CLIC Sargent has been able to help Bradley who has a very supportive family. They have been wonderful at fundraising for CLIC Sargent.
"Carl has raised nearly £3,300 after taking part in the Big Buzz; his wife Rachel has joined him in running in the Reading Half Marathon; another family member, Laura Mason, organised a ball last year, raising over £3,500, and is organising one again for 2016.
"They are an amazing family of fundraisers! Thank you so much.”
