Following the sucess of 2015, the La La Choirs and CLIC Sargent have launched a Devon school choir competition, with the opportunity for secondary school children to perform at the CLIC for Christmas concert at Exeter Cathedral on Friday 9 December 2016.
Park Community School in Barnstaple were the lucky winners of the 2015 school’s competition.
Head teacher Gareth Roscoe had this to say about the experience: “I can wholeheartedly endorse the Devon Schools Choir competition, held in partnership with La La Choirs.
"The Park Community School was fortunate enough to be the winners of this competition in 2015. Students and staff involved thoroughly enjoyed the competition and the opportunity to perform with La La Choirs and other artists at the finale in Exeter Cathedral.
“The benefits of the competition were shared across the whole school community with many parents, staff and students seeing and hearing our students perform.
“This is a great community event, raising the profile of making and enjoying music with the opportunity to perform in a fantastic venue. This has created many happy memories for our students (and staff) that will last for a long time.“
How to enter
All Devon schools with students aged 12-18 are invited to enter the competition with the prize being a 20 minute performance, forming part of an evening of wonderful entertainment.
Schools must register for the competition by Monday 9 May by emailing La La Choir Musical Director Sam Abrahams on: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will then be asked to submit an Mp3 by 1 July, with finalists being announced later in July. Selected finalists will perform to the judging panel in October with the winning school being announced that day.
