Cheltenham American Square Dance Club made donations in lieu of sending Christmas cards and managed to raise £101 to support young cancer patients.
Cheltenham American Square Dance Club celebrated Christmas by dancing the night away. This year members chose to have their dance in aid of CLIC Sargent, and each contributed donations to make up a wonderful £101.
The club regularly meets on Friday evenings at the Holy Apostles Church Hall in Charlton Kings and celebrates 60 years in 2017.
They showed off their footwork with all the great moves they had been learning in class such as Dosado, California Twirl, Ocean Wave and Ferris Wheel.
Club Chairman Stephen Pond said: “Every Christmas we hold a party dance with various callers from around the county, party dances and games, we also sit down to a two course meal.
“Every year we choose a different charity, we chose CLIC Sargent last year because one of our committee told us about the wonderful work they do.”
Interested in joining?
The Cheltenham American Square Dance Club involves members from Cheltenham and the surrounding areas such as Gloucester, Stroud, Tewkesbury and Bishop’s Cleeve and the dancers thoroughly enjoy the social side of things.
The next opportunity for new beginners is autumn 2016 and you will be made very welcome.
