Donations from its members has resulted in Houghton and District Darts and Domino League raising a fantastic £2,600 for CLIC Sargent.
Members of the league chose to raise money for CLIC Sargent to show support for one of its members who was helped by the charity when their little girl, Freya, went through treatment for cancer.
The league normally chooses two charities each year but this year decided not to split the money and instead has given it all to CLIC Sargent.
In the last few years family, friends and Freya’s school have all rallied around her and raised money for CLIC Sargent - and now the darts team has too.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Dee Tyler was invited to Houghton and District Darts and Domino League's annual presentation evening, held at The Dubmire Club, to accept the cheque, along with Freya and her family.
She said: “We are very grateful to the league for choosing to support CLIC Sargent and thankful to their member Bob for putting our name forward.
"I’m just pleased CLIC Sargent was able to support this family when they needed us most.”
