Bristol based Lloyds Banking Group teams became retail rivals for the day in a bid to raise money for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
The local regulars at Fishponds and Downend CLIC Sargent charity shops were surprised to see Lloyds Banking Group staff behind the tills.
The two teams went head to head testing their sales skills to see who could increase income in the shop for the day. As part of this, the teams were able to be as creative as possible and both teams organised a raffle and held collections in Downend and Fishponds High Street.
In total both teams raised a fantastic £1,100 in aid of CLIC Sargent, with the winners, the Fishponds Shop team, taking home the title raising £706, twice as much as the shop would normally take in a day.
Laura Caseley, CSR representative and local financial advisor for the Bishopsworth Branch said: "Our shop wars day as part of Lloyds Banking Group’s ‘Day to Make a Difference’ was lots of fun. CLIC Sargent were really good at helping us prepare for the day to make sure we would get the most out of it.
“We are delighted with the final amount raised for CLIC Sargent, which the Lloyds Banking Group will match fund. We would definitely all consider donating our ‘Day to Make a Difference’ to CLIC Sargent next year."
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Kiren Fernandes said: “We are absolutely delighted with the result. The money the teams have raised is fantastic and will go towards supporting children and young people with cancer in the UK.”
