Employees at Thanet Earth have raised £5,000 through various fundraising activities for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.
Michael Eason, health and safety manager, said: “For the second year running the Thanet Earth staff have nominated CLIC Sargent as their charity of the year.
"With lots of employees at Thanet Earth having young children themselves, the help given by CLIC Sargent at a very traumatic time is recognised by everyone.
"We were encouraged to support CLIC Sargent because at some point in our lives, we or those closest to us, may be affected by cancer and may need the help provided by CLIC Sargent.
Through collection pots, shop sales, tombolas, cake bakes, barbecues and other events, we have raised £5,000.
"CLIC Sargent has been nominated for 2015-2016 and we hope to raise even more. “
A wonderful contribution
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Auer said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Thanet Earth has made this wonderful contribution.
"We really appreciate the hard work and generosity that has gone into raising the pounds – every penny raised will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
