Top local talent manage 2014 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon

Claire O’Reilly

Claire has been the Event Manager for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon since 2008 and has been successful in organising the inaugural Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon in September 2013.

With a keen interest in sport and now often seen running on the tow paths of Belfast and Newry she is looking forward to another record breaking year for her events in 2014.

Peter McVerry

With U105 being the Official Radio Partner for the event, Station Manager Peter McVerry is delighted to be working with Claire and her team to bring entertainment to all the participants and spectators at both the starting and finishing lines of the race, including promotions of tips and discounts throughout the year to get everyone registered.

Peter McVerry said: "U105 are delighted to continue our long standing relationship with Belfast City Marathon. It is one of the biggest sporting participatory events in Ireland and recent figures show no sign of dwindling numbers."

Eimear McCooey

The Official Nominated Charity for this year’s event is CLIC Sargent Northern Ireland, so Fundraising Manager, Eimear McCooey will be very busy encouraging all runners to raise money for her worthwhile charity;

"The Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon is such an iconic event which raises phenomenal amounts of money for charity each year."

"CLIC Sargent is the leading cancer charity for children and young people in Northern Ireland and every penny raised by participants choosing to 'Run for Home' in the 2014 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon will help support those families.

"I’m urging the generous people from Newry to sign up today for the Marathon, relay, eight mile walk or the fun run, you will be making a real difference to families in this area."
