The Worcester Dragon Boat Racing Club held its 25th annual Dragon Regatta in aid of CLIC Sargent and the Myriad Centre in Worcestershire.
Every year, the Worcester Dragon Boat Racing Club hosts the annual Dragon Regatta on the River Severn, inviting clubs, pubs, businesses and organisations to unleash their competiveness and enter teams of 16 paddlers to have a chance to compete for trophies, while raising vital funds for local charities.
As well as supporting CLIC Sargent this year, the club also supported the Myriad Centre in Worcester.
The Regatta raised a wonderful £987 for CLIC Sargent, which could pay for a family to stay in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home for a month.
Focus on team
Craig Cliff, Race The Dragon co-ordinator 2015, said: "It's a competitive sport, but the focus is on team spirit and team participation, and to raise plenty of money for charity.
"The event has grown over the years and it's great to see friends, colleagues, workmates and pub teams take part on the river having a great time."
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Lydia Buckmaster said: “Race the Dragon was fantastic! It was great to see local businesses and community groups come together and demonstrate such brilliant team work while having fun raising money for young cancer patients. ”
