Mum Christine and her son Adam, who is currently being supported by CLIC Sargent, held a charity night at Westerhope Excelsior Club and raised £2,183 for children and young people with cancer.
The pair put on a night to remember at the Newcastle club to support CLIC Sargent, after Adam was helped by the team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary throughout his treatment, in particular his CLIC Sargent Social Worker Steven Shiels.
The event has raised £2,183 so far, with more money expected from matched funding by Sky and from the auction of a chair signed by the cast of the TV show Benidorm, which was kindly donated by Johnny Vegas after the star met the family on holiday.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Dee Tyler said: “Adam and Christine have done so well with their fundraising and it is something everyone involved should be very proud of.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank them, and everyone else involved in the evening.
“We are pleased to hear the fundraising is still continuing with the auction and matched funding.
"This isn’t the first time Adam has been involved in fundraising for CLIC Sargent. Earlier this year he handed over a cheque for £1,442 which was raised at his school. We hope it won’t be his last time either!"
The chair is to be sold in a silent auction to raise money for CLIC Sargent. Anyone who would like more information should email the organisers at firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date is 10 July 2015.
