Des Brown's granddaughter Chloe was diagnosed with cancer when she was very young and since then Des has held an annual golf day to raise money for the charities who supported her, including CLIC Sargent.
A lot of hard work goes into the organising of this event, but Chloe, who is now a teenager, is keen for her grandad to keep up the good work until it reaches its 20th Anniversary in 2017.
Des held this year's event on a wet and windy Sunday 14 June, at Saltburn Golf Club and is pleased to announce the golf day has raised an incredible £1,540.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Dee Tyler said: “I think it’s wonderful that Des keeps organising this event for us every year and puts his heart and soul into it.
Every year, without fail, he manages to raise a fantastic sum of money and I want him to know we're so grateful.
"Des couldn’t do it without the help of all the local businesses which donate prizes, including the local Co-operative in Stokesley and so thank you to them too.”
