Nicola Perry, Carolyn Tudor and Alison Perry put on the coffee morning having been inspired by Nicola’s daughter, Sophie. Sophie is three years old and is being treated for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
The event, held at St Andrews Church Hall in Taunton, was attended by over 100 guests. Activities included a cake sale, face painting and a raffle, supported by local businesses.
Guests were also entertained by music played by pupils from Tone Woodwind Tuition, all of whom were sponsored as part of CLIC Sargent’s Practice-a-thon.
This alone raised over £2,000. Practice-a-thon is CLIC Sargent's music, drama and dance fundraising event for performers across the UK of all ages and abilities.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Mairi Wilson said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Nicola, Carolyn, Alison and all those involved in this event. They raised a fantastic amount for CLIC Sargent and worked extremely hard.”
"The money raised from this event could fund a family to stay in one of our Homes from Home for three months.
These homes save families on average £2,140 and the average stay in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home is 23 days.
