Zahraa Khan from Birmingham has organised not one but two charity car washes, raising over £500 for CLIC Sargent in memory of her sister, Jasmine.
With a little help from her friends and colleagues at Lidl in Bordesley Green and B13 Wash in Birmingham, Zahraa was able to raise over £500 from both venues for CLIC Sargent by washing customers’ cars for just £2!
Zahraa's sister Jasmine died of cancer in 1998 when she was only 13. Zahraa, says she was delighted to fundraise for CLIC Sargent and to be able to highlight the work that they do in the West Midlands.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Anna Finnegan said: “Every day 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news that they have cancer. CLIC Sargent is there from diagnosis onwards to offer practical, clinical and emotional support. Sadly we can only reach two out of three families.
"That is why it is always inspirational when family members, who have experienced the effects of cancer first hand, show their support for CLIC Sargent. I think Zahraa has done amazingly well!”
Zahraa added that she would very much like to say thank you to all the staff at Lidl and the crew at B13 Wash for their support and hard work and last but not least for having fun with the pressure washer at the end of the day!
