Staff and pupils from Folkstone Acadamy took part in CLIC Sargent's Wig Wednesday, raising an impressive £550 in support of children and young people with cancer, and their families.
Students and teachers at the Academy came to school wearing a wig of their choice in return for sponsorship from family and friends.
Mr Mitchell, the music teacher at the Academy, organised the event and set up a competition for students to win a prize for the most amount of money raised.
Along with the fundraising event, the Academy’s communication team created a ‘Wig Wiggle’ video to raise awareness of the charity.
Emma Jones, Communications and Events Officer at the school said: “The Folkestone Academy is very proactive when it comes to raising money for the charity.
"The Wig Wednesday event was perfect for us as it helps us to engage our students and lets them have fun while talking about important issues such as cancer.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Auer said: “Thank you to The Folkestone Academy for raising over £550 for CLIC Sargent and for producing such a fantastic video of their 'Wig Wiggle'.”
