The first CLIC Sargent Home from Home located next to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children opened on 20 December 2013 and building work has now begun on the Home for teenagers and young adults at the Belfast City Hospital which is due to open later this year.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Fiona McCann said: "We were delighted to have the opportunity to run the grotto at the centre in Newtownabbey and the amount of money raised is an incredible boost to the Homes from Home Appeal.

"I'd like to thank Hillside Nursery Centre for supporting us and all our fantastic volunteers who gave up their time so close to Christmas to help us reach this total."
