CLIC Sargent is proud to announce that our partnership with Lidl UK has now raised £1.6 million - an incredible £600,000 over target, making 2016 the retailer’s most successful fundraising year to date.
At the end of July we announced that Lidl UK had reached its initial fundraising target of £1million six months ahead of schedule. The extra £600,000 raised since then means that Lidl’s support since the beginning of our partnership has been able to fund an incredible 64,000 hours of care for children and young people who are going through cancer treatment.
The money has been raised through a mixture of staff fundraising activities and corporate donations alongside promotions on Lidl products. For example, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September Lidl UK employees across the country dressed as superheroes for a week, which raised over £75,000. And for every pack of Lidl’s 2016 charity Christmas cards sold this year 25p of the 99p cost is donated to CLIC Sargent.

“Your backing has meant that CLIC Sargent’s Cancer Care Teams have been able to support young cancer patients and their parents when they’ve needed us most, and for this we will be forever grateful.”

Jess Lusher is the mum of 5-year-old cancer survivor Luke Ross, who was supported by CLIC Sargent, and chosen as the face of the campaign earlier this year.

"Luke started fronting Lidl’s appeal for CLIC Sargent in February, and I’m so proud we’ve helped their employees and shoppers to raise £600,000 over target.”
