Star sporting pundit Jake Humphrey’s Windsor race evening has raised a fantastic £330,000 for young cancer patients.
The charity race night event, held at Windsor Racecourse on Monday, 19 June, saw Humphrey joined by fellow CLIC Sargent supporter and Formula 1 legend Eddie Jordan.
At one point the crowd was treated to a spectacular display of football skills by Andrew Henderson, world freestyle champion.
A star performance
Another special guest at the event was Anna Sherratt, 24, who was supported by CLIC Sargent when she was diagnosed with lymphoma during her last year of university.
She took part in a CLIC Sargent music workshop, which helped her deal with the social detachment brought about by her diagnosis and treatment.
Following an interview with Jake, Anna performed for the Windsor crowd.
She said: “The whole night really was amazing. I’m still pinching myself because I can’t believe it really happened.”
The race night saw guests enjoy seven races, dinner and an auction, all of the proceeds of which were donated to CLIC Sargent.
Jake said: “The evening was a great success, with a brilliant atmosphere, a fantastic setting, and all in support of such a wonderful cause. It’s a pleasure to be CLIC Sargent ambassador.”
A huge thanks to all involved
Kate Lee, CLIC Sargent Chief Executive, said: “What a fantastic evening. We are hugely grateful for the generosity displayed on the night, and to our wonderful hosts.
“Special thanks must also be given to Anna for sharing her story and her music, giving an inspirational high-point in a brilliant event.”
