Prefects at Walton High in Milton Keynes, hosted a charity quiz night in aid of CLIC Sargent, raising over £400 to support children and young people with cancer.
You’re a Quizzard Harry
The quiz featured topics from general knowledge to pop culture and one extraordinary round called ‘Can you feel it?’, where teams had to identify items in a sealed envelope only using their sense of touch!
17 quiz teams, including ‘Agatha Quiztee’ and ‘Quizzee Rascals’, battled for glory and the prestigious Quiz Cup at Walton High’s recent quiz night.
Among the excellent team names were ‘You’re a Quizzard Harry’, who took the title of highest ranking student team.
At the end of the evening the winning team was announced as ‘Quiztal Clear’, a team from the geography department, who took away the Quiz Cup and gift boxes from Hotel Chocolat.
The evening also included an amazing musical performance from two very talented students, tasty pizza and a tuck shop, selling crisps and sweets to keep the teams fuelled.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager James McDonald said: “When cancer strikes young lives, CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. Our care teams are relentless, working alongside NHS teams to ensure families and young people get all the support they need.
“I would like to thank everyone at Walton High for joining our fight for young lives against cancer and raising a huge £417 to support more children and young people with cancer.”
Proud of our prefects
Miss Riley, P16 study supervisor, said: “As a team we do a lot of fundraising throughout the school year for different charities, but this time felt particularly special as we were giving back to a charity that had personally helped the family of one of our fundraisers.
“The quiz night was a resounding success that left everyone in high spirits. I am so proud of our prefects for working so hard to this all together, they were the real stars of the night.”
