Father Christmas visited the CLIC House Winter Party with gifts for all donated by local businesses.
CLIC House, one of CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home, hosted their annual Winter Party for children and young people currently undergoing cancer treatment at Bristol Hospitals. Many families are forced to stay in Bristol, many miles from home, over the Christmas period so that their child can receive treatment in hospital.
Local businesses went all out
CLIC House welcomed over 30 children and young people to the Winter Party with a buffet kindly provided by J D Wetherspoon staff and Iceland (Bedminster Store) in Bristol. The team from Hair at 58, Cotham Hill pampered parents and teenagers with hand and neck massages for that much needed moment of 'me time'.
Everyone played pass the parcel, had fun in the dancing competition and Father Christmas made a special appearance to give out presents to all of the children. These gifts were donated by Close Brothers Motor Finance and the children and young people were very excited to receive them.
Bringing a smile to others
CLIC Sargent Area Fundraising Manager Tori Williams said: “It was fantastic to see the children’s faces light up as they unwrapped their gifts. We see how much it means to the families at a very difficult time of year.
“We are very grateful for the wonderful presents that Close Brothers Motor Finance give to the children and young people each year. CLIC Sargent relies entirely on donations to fund our vital work and so it is amazing to receive so much generosity from local businesses to support the party.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped at the party – you have made a big difference to the CLIC Sargent families this Christmas.”
