For the second year running a Shropshire family has organised a fantastic black tie ball in support of their daughter Molly, while raising money for CLIC Sargent.
The Noden family from Market Drayton decided to organise the event again after such a successful night last year raised over £5,000.
Close to our hearts
Mum Heather Noden said: “CLIC Sargent is a charity so close to our hearts after they were there to support us through Molly’s leukaemia.
"Now that Molly has finished treatment, I know there are many other children with cancer and their families who need to be reached. This ball is our way of helping the charity to do that.”
The ball, held at the Tern Hill Hall Hotel, was sold out and over 200 ticket holders were treated to great food, good music and a celebrity hosted auction.
Local football pundit and comedian Nick Hancock lent his voice and time to raise over £2,500 on the auction alone, consisting of donated prizes from local businesses, including a voucher for 12 months worth of hair care at a Francescos’ Salon.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Anna Finnegan said: “All the guests looked spectacular in their ball gowns and dickie bows and there was a great party atmosphere.
"Everyone was very generous throughout the auction and other fundraising opportunities, and I really got the impression of a close-knit community showing their love and support for the Noden family and their chosen charity.
“I know the amount of work that Heather, Ian and friends put into organising this event and it really was a fantastic success. On behalf of all the children and young people with cancer that CLIC Sargent supports, we are very grateful.”
