Chart Hills golf club celebrated its 19th Lewis International Golf Tournament at Chart Hills Golf Club, raising a record amount of over £12,000 for CLIC Sargent.
Golfers from the UK and USA celebrated with over 100 dinner guest as CLIC Sargent received a charitable donation of £12,300.68.
Brian and Susan Lewis chose to support CLIC Sargent in memory of Max Smith, a friend of Chart Hills’ Club captains Phil and Lucy Bramall who died at age 17 from cancer. CLIC Sargent supported Max and his family during his treatment.
Brian Lewis said: “Many records were broken at this year’s tournament, most notably the total of funds raised. Susan and I are truly indebted to all those, both here and from the United States, who contributed so generously".
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Hannah Auer said: “CLIC Sargent is currently supporting 195 children and young people in Kent alone.
“It costs approximately £3,750 to support a family through a typical three year cancer journey so we are delighted to be the recipients of funds raised through this fantastic event.
“Many thanks to Brian and Susan Lewis, Phillip and Lucy Bramall, Max’s family, Charts Hills Golf Club and all the attendees from the UK and USA. Your kind donations will certainly make a big difference.”
