Santa Claus visited Great Shefford village shop to judge a fundraising poster competition after Mrs Claus challenged Santa to raise £2,000 for CLIC Sargent. If £2,000 isn’t raised, his beard has to go!
A little help from Santa's friends
The Save Santa’s Beard poster competition received several entries from children in the local community who have joined the campaign to Save Santa’s Beard.
Santa has been determined to keep his beard and has been working hard with his friend Amanda Keen from Great Shefford to raise this amount.
Amanda said: “I was so impressed with all of the posters that had been entered and I was so glad that I didn’t have to pick the winners.”
The three winners receive a Christmas goody bag which were donated by Great Shefford village shop and presented to the children by Santa himself.
People have been very generous in supporting the campaign and with just a few more days until Christmas Santa is just £100 off reaching his target of £2,000.

Making a difference
Amanda said she wants to raise as much money as possible for CLIC Sargent, which provides vital support to children and their families at a difficult time.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Liz Blunt said: “Santa, and the community of Great Shefford, especially Amanda, have been amazing at raising almost £2000 so far, a huge thank you to them!
"This amount of money can cover the costs of eight families staying in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home for a week each allowing them to be close to their loved ones during treatment.
"Christmas is expensive but when cancer strikes young lives the additional costs can devastate families financially so ensuring our families don’t need to pay to stay in a hotel and have somewhere to cook meals is a significant help."
