Toby's family take on the Big Buzz

To show thanks for the support CLIC Sargent has provided since Toby's cancer diagnosis at the end of last year, his family has been busy raising funds by taking part in the charity's Big Buzz head shaving fundraiser.

Toby's family take on the Big Buzz

Over £1,800 raised!

As Toby began his chemotherapy treatment, he asked to dye his hair purple before it began to fall out. His father Richie joined him and they both welcomed in the new year with vibrant purple hair!

Toby's dad and his sister Jessica also showed their support by taking part in CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz fundraiser.

Jessica cut off her long locks and donated it to the Little Princesses charity whilst Richie shaved his all off at the same time as Toby. The family has now raised over an incredible £1,800 in support of children and young people with cancer.

Richie said: "Since Toby was diagnosed the support from CLIC Sargent has been brilliant.

"We did not realise the extent of the work they do and the support that they give. From the CLIC Sargent Social Work team who support us and Toby's sister Jessica and brother Samuel, to the advice available for grants, blue badge, safe holiday for Toby and support breaks for his sister and brother.

"CLIC Villa is a lifesaver when Toby has a theatre day as it allows us to travel the night before and have a decent night’s sleep in a beautiful well-kept house across the road from Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital."

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Deirdre Curley said: "The whole family are so inspiring and taking part in the Big Buzz is such a fantastic way to show their support for Toby. We are delighted that we can make the family comfortable in CLIC Villa."
