Dedicated CLIC Sargent supporter, Les Hiscock is organising a fundraising evening in Pewsey, Wiltshire in memory of his son Lewis who died of cancer.
In memory of Lewis
Lewis from Devizes, was diagnosed with Leukaemia in the late 80s when he was five. He underwent treatment for three and a half years at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Les and his family praised the support CLIC Sargent provided them when Lewis was receiving cancer treatment, including free accommodation near the hospital at one of CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home in Bristol, helping to keep the family together at a very difficult time.
Les and his family and friends have been dedicated fundraisers for CLIC Sargent since Lewis died 23 years ago. In this time they have run their infamous annual jumble sale in Lockeridge, near Marlborough, which has now raised over £55,000 for children and young people with cancer.
Electro folk night fundraiser
Les’ upcoming electric folk night will be the newest addition to his fundraising portfolio, adding even more funds to an already fantastic total.
Guests will be entertained by the electric folk band Sackful of Sovereigns, a five piece band performing their own original material and modern arrangements of traditional and contemporary English folk music.
The evening will also feature a mini auction and auction of promises.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Sophie Porfirio, said: “Les’ support to CLIC Sargent is unbelievable. I have no doubt that his fundraising evening planned will be a fantastic night and successful fundraiser for the charity, helping CLIC Sargent to continue to be there for children just like Lewis.”
Tickets for this event are priced £5. To buy tickets, please contact Les Hiscock on 01380 813 130 or purchase them from Woodborough Social Club.
Doors open on 27 July at 7.30pm with the band playing from 9pm to 11.15pm.
