Throughout 2013, staff, pupils and parents from King Henry VIII Preparatory School in Coventry have taken part in an array of fundraising activities to raise funds for CLIC Sargent.
The fundraising events which raised a total of £3,751.05, included a talent show, making and selling pencils toppers, pillow fighting and a big fun run that saw pupils, parents, and staff running alongside each other.
Deputy Head of Swallows Campus, Caroline Soan, was delighted with the result: "The school council chose CLIC Sargent as their charity of the year. Pupils had nominated several charities but after discussion and class voting, they chose CLIC Sargent, mainly because they wanted to support children in times of need. Each class then organised fund raising ideas. Their enthusiasm was very evident."
CLIC Sargent Area Fundraising Manager, Amanda Chapple, was overwhelmed by the school's support: "It's fantastic to see all of King Henry VIII Prep School pull together to support children and young people with cancer. Pupils and staff have been so dedicated to raising funds and have come up with some brilliant ideas for fundraising."
Thank You to everyone who took part. The school are hoping to continue their fundraising by taking part in Wig Wednesday in May 2014.
