When her granddaughter was diagnosed with leukaemia, Lesley-Ann Cowell decided that she wanted to help in anyway she could, and her curry night come headshave was born to raise money for CLIC Sargent.
With the help of her family, friends and the local residents, Lesley-Ann organised a curry night at the local cricket club for 100 guests.
Aside from the delicious food and raffle, Lesley-Ann volunteered to undergo CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz challenge and have her head shaved to raise even more money for the charity.
Lesley-Ann and her family aren’t stopping there either, they’re already discussing their future fundraising plans, so watch this space.
A valued supporter
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Catherine Cadman said: “What a woman! Such a fantastic amount! Without the work of people like Lesley-Ann, we would not be able to strive to meet our aim of reaching every child and young person affected by cancer.
“We currently reach two out of three children, but our aim is to make it three out of three. I’m looking forward to working with Lesley-Ann again!”
