Singer Rubina Arthur took London Ghana SDA Church by storm with her live performance of Dream Again, written in memory of her cousin Emmanuel, to raise money for CLIC Sargent and other charities.
Emmanuel sadly died in 2014 after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).
In memory of her cousin, Rubina launched her project by writing and producing her Dream Again single.
Rubina aims to raise £10,000 for CLIC Sargent, PCAF (Physically Challenged Action Foundation) in Ghana and for Emmanuel’s compassion fund, set up specifically to help Emmanuel’s disabled relatives in Ghana.
Rubina launched her single on 30 July 2016 and has so far raised £1,575!
Rubina said: “Dream Again is about hope and being positive against all odds.
“Emmanuel never allowed a diagnosis of cancer to stop him from aiming high, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that the beneficiaries of the project, as well as everyone else, will also keep their fire burning no matter what comes their way.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Verity Gallagher said: “I’ve loved every minute of supporting Rubina over the past few months and watching her project grow from strength to strength.
“Turning such a sad time into something positive; she’s an inspiration to us all.”
