On donating the final collection of £760 to CLIC Sargent in January 2018, Gary said: “At Gary Walker Butcher, we were dedicated to raising funds for a wonderful charity - CLIC Sargent.

"We have raised an incredible amount and we would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing family, friends and customers."

"CLIC Sargent was one of the incredible charities that helped my daughter throughout her cancer journey.

"The work that they do is very inspiring, and our aim in raising funds for CLIC Sargent was to enable them to help other young people throughout their journey as they did with our daughter.

"It is very meaningful having a charity like CLIC Sargent, as not only is it a shock knowing your child has cancer, but that young life has been put on pause to endure what it takes to fight the disease and get themselves better.”

Hugely grateful

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager Rachael McLean said: “When cancer strikes young lives CLIC Sargent helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health.

"We provide specialist support to help and guide each young cancer patient and their family. We rely entirely on donations to fund our vital work and we are so grateful to all the staff and patrons of Gary Walker Butchers for the very generous donations they have made over the years.”
