The Kent-based recruitment company, MC Personnel took part in the annual KM Charity Challenge Dragon Boat race in aid of CLIC Sargent, raising £600 in memory of an employee’s family friend.
A team of 15 of the recruitment company’s employees entered to take part in the annual race which took place in the glorious sunshine on Sunday 14 July.
With the cheers of 30 supporters, the team rowed their way to raising a fantastic £600 for CLIC Sargent in memory of family friend Danny Stevenson, who died aged 21 in 2009. Danny's brother was the team's proud 'drummer' on the day, beating the drum to dictate the pace of the paddles.
The team came second on the first two races, and first on the third race, coming 10th place overall.
Danielle Cassidy, the Branch Manager at MC Personnel said: "The company sponsored the team through paying for the cost of boat and t-shirts so we are pleased to have been able to help raise £600 for such a great charity."
The money raised by the MC Personnel race team could pay for a CLIC Sargent Play Specialist for a week whilst this help a child prepare for and cope with treatment, by using models, toys and photos to explain what will happen.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Auer said: "Thank you to voluntary fundraising group Danny's Angels, MC Personnel, the team of rowers and all those who turned out to support the event."
