Calum MacKenzie's family have set up a Remember Me Fund with CLIC Sargent and have raised a huge £12,500 by organising various fundraising events in the Reading area.
Calum sadly died in 2014, aged 19, after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia.
His family set up a Remember Me Fund with CLIC Sargent and have raised an incredible £12,527 for young cancer patients by organising various fundraising events in the Reading area.
Events have included: The Bullfest at The Bull Inn in Stanford Dingley 2015 and 2016, a darts fun day, fundraising at Reading College, family donations and donations from the funeral.
In addition, brothers Adam and Luke Massey ran the Wokingham Half Marathon and Hugh Best-Shaw ran the London Marathon in memory of Calum earlier this year.
A big thank you
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Liz Blunt said: “Calum’s family and friends are truly inspiring and they have made such a wonderful contribution to CLIC Sargent in such a short time already.
"All the money raised will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families, so a big thank you from all of us at CLIC Sargent.”
