Laura Giddings is turning heads with her new look after braving the clippers as part of CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz event, raising £670 for children and young people with cancer.
CLIC Sargent's Big Buzz event encourages people to shave their heads to support children and young people with cancer, many of whom lose their hair during treatment.
The sponsored head shave was held at Vinnie’s Bar in Weston-super-Mare on 2 December and was watched by excited friends and family.
Laura Giddings said: “I shaved my head for CLIC Sargent because back in August my five-year-old cousin was diagnosed with leukaemia and this charity has helped him and his family so much. It was all worth it as I’ve raised over £670 for CLIC Sargent.”
Making a difference
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Victoria Williams said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Laura for becoming a LifeShaver for CLIC Sargent. I think the finished result looks amazing!
“Every day 10 children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Many will lose their hair during treatment and our Big Buzz event gives you the chance to show support for them by shaving your head and raising money for CLIC Sargent.
“At the moment we can only help two out of three children and young people diagnosed with cancer. We want to reach as many as possible and with your support we can do this.”
