Big-hearted Suffolk pub, The Shoulder of Mutton has embraced fundraising for CLIC Sargent through their annual garden party, raising an incredible £7,000.
This year was their best fundraising year to date, as the local community took part in various events and challenges to raise £7,000 in support of children and young people with cancer.
The main fundraising event - the garden party, included a BBQ, bouncy castle, live band, raffle, auction and even paintballing in the car park. Over 250 people attended the event, with many dressing up in pink to show their support.
Tina Braithwaite, landlady of the pub in Assington said: “Thank you very much to everyone who turned up to our party and made it possible to raise this amount.
"With special thanks to Andy and Sue who raised over £2,200 through their sponsored horse ride, to Neil and Richard for their bike ride, and to Clive and Anne for running the BBQ at the party.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Alison Ramsay said: “We are so grateful to all the supporters of The Shoulder of Mutton’s fundraising for this wonderful donation.
"Every day, ten children and young people hear that they have cancer; so their fundraising is so important, helping us to continue supporting children and their families here in Suffolk, and across the UK.”
