Swaffam catering firm getting wiggy with it for young cancer patients

Staff from Swaffham catering firm, Edwards & Blake, are getting ready to don funky new hairdo’s for the day and 'get wiggy with it' as part of Wig Wednesday on 25 May.

The team at Edwards & Blake, who specialise in contract catering for schools and businesses, have signed up for Wig Wednesday when all staff will be making a donation for the chance to nominate their managers or colleagues to wear a wig of their choosing.

Shirley Edwards, co-founder of Edwards & Blake, said: “This will be the second time we’ve signed up to Wig Wednesday and everyone is really looking forward to ‘getting wiggy with it’ again for this brilliant cause!”

In 2014, Edwards & Blake raised £500 for CLIC Sargent by selling wig-themed cakes and sweets to staff  and earlier this year made a donation of over £800 raised from the sale of school Christmas meals.

Amazing job

Shirley added: “We support CLIC Sargent because their Nurses and Social Workers do an amazing job supporting children, young people and their families with cancer through the hardest of times, and we want to do our bit too, whenever we can.

“Hopefully, even more local businesses in the area will be inspired to sign up and become hairo-s for CLIC Sargent.”

Get involved

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Daisy Turner said: “We are so grateful to all the staff and customers at Edwards & Blake for being such great sports, making a real difference to the lives of the 70 young cancer patients and their families living in Norfolk.

“By signing up for Wig Wednesday you can help to change things for the better for thousands of children and young people with cancer – so get involved!”
