The London based choir, the Constanza Chorus has raised a fantastic £2,700 for CLIC Sargent during 2012/13.
The Constanza Chorus held a double festive concert at the St-Sepulchre-without-Newgate in December 2012, where they sang Mozart’s wonderful setting of the Vesper and other popular carols.
The event also celebrated the launch of their ‘Christmas in the City’ CD which donated £5 to CLIC Sargent from each sale.
‘Christmas in the City’, was recorded at St Mary-at-Hill Church in London by Charles Tomlinson, Joanna's brother, and comprises a ravishing mix of well-known and more unusual Christmas choral music.
In total, the choir has raised £2,000 from their activities and received £700 matched funding from Santander, bringing their fundraising total for CLIC Sargent to £2,700!
About the Constanza Chorus
The Constanza Chorus was formed in 2010 by conductor, Joanna Bywater, her mother Libby Tomlinson and family friend Les Williams.
The choir has a friendly, family feel and its ethos is to provide a fun and welcoming environment for music making whilst striving for the highest possible standards.
Part of the choirs remit is to also be active in raising money for charity which is why the choir chose to support CLIC Sargent as their charity for 2012.
Thank you everyone in the Constanza Chorus for choosing to support CLIC Sargent and for all of the hard work you put in.
