Christmas celebrations began in Bourton on the Water on Saturday 5 December with the Chedworth Silver Band Christmas concert at the Royal British Legion Hall, raising £510 for children and young people with cancer.
This fabulous event was organised by Mr and Mrs Finch and supported by local people. Unite the Union Branch from Messier-Bugatti-Dowty in Gloucester paid the fee for the Chedworth Silver Band, allowing more of the profits to be donated to CLIC Sargent.
An enjoyable evening
John Finch said: “It was a very enjoyable evening for all in attendance. I wish to extend my thanks to Mrs Margaret Crawley for her two wonderful solos, the conductor David Broad who compered with humour and to the band who played well.
“Thank you to David and Jackie Van-Tromp for organising the interval teas and raffle, to everyone who donated raffle prizes and to my wife and my daughter Angela.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Caroline Marshall said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Mr and Mrs Finch have made this wonderful contribution.
"We really appreciate the hard work and generosity that has gone into raising the pounds – every penny raised will help provide vital support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.”
