Carousel Day Care Nursery in Middlezoy, Bridgwater, managed to raise an incredible £823 through the organisation of a coffee morning. The day was full of baked treats and beverages and it was all in aid of Yummy Mummy Week, CLIC Sargent’s national fundraising campaign.
The fun-packed fundraising campaign is all about mums doing something yummy for children and young people with cancer, whilst spending quality time with family and friends. The money raised will help CLIC Sargent continue to be there from the point of diagnosis onwards, and to support the whole family in coping with the impact of cancer, its treatment and life after treatment.
A big thank you goes out to Lesley Manchip, who came up with the grand plan and to everybody involved in making the day a great success. Staff at the nursery were overwhelmed by the generosity of their coffee morning visitors, and were delighted to hand over such a large sum. CLIC Sargent is a cause very close to the hearts of the nursery staff and local community, following one of the nursery’s children receiving support from the charity.
Thank you to all of the local companies who donated time and services to the event, including Amante from the Alight Balloon Company, Middlezoy Village Hall and many locals who donated cakes, face painting and raffle prizes.
