Pupils successfully launched their campaign throughout the school on Friday 19 June with a special charity day when they came to school dressed as a character from their favourite book.
This fun day included prizes for best costume and raised over £500 for CLIC Sargent. The children have also been actively sharing information about CLIC Sargent at school and at home.
Bryan McLachlan, headteacher at Cross Arthurlie’s, said: “The children are all very excited about this partnership with CLIC Sargent.
"They have been finding out about the incredible work the charity does for children and young people with cancer and are looking forward to taking part in lots of fundraising activities in the coming months and years."
The children have made a huge effort already and we will look to do even more in the new school term.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Rachael McLean said: “We are delighted about this partnership with Cross Arthurlie Primary School and are really looking forward to an exciting year of fundraising with the staff and pupils there."
