Commenting on the publication of Together for Health – Cancer Delivery Plan by the Welsh Government, Simon Morgan-Jones, CLIC Sargent’s Services Manager for Wales, said: "CLIC Sargent welcomes the Welsh Government’s ambition to improve the quality of cancer services for patients of all ages, wherever they live in Wales and whatever their circumstances.
"We particularly welcome the renewed commitment to ensure everyone with a cancer diagnosis has access to a key worker. We know this makes a real difference to patients and CLIC Sargent is already funding two Specialist Nurse Key Worker posts in Wales for children with cancer as part of a UK-wide project. Ensuring that children and young people living with cancer can access the support they need is top of the charity’s agenda.
"The plan builds on last year’s publication of the National Standards for Children with Cancer which together we hope will lead to improvements across Wales for children and young people with cancer. We look forward to working with the Welsh Government, local Health Board and other charity partners to make this happen."
