When Jenny Richards was alive she encouraged others to ‘live the life you love’ and ‘get on and deal with it’, so when she died of cancer in 2011 her mum Kez strived to hold on to her message, creating a hugely successful fundraising blog.
Since then Kez and Jenny's friends have organised huge amounts of fundraising in memory of Jenny (‘Team Jen’), raising over £8,000 for CLIC Sargent.
From walks, runs and bike rides, to cake sales, balls and car boot sales, Jenny’s family logged their successes on Team Jen's online blog as an anchor for the fundraising community and a brilliant chronicle of generosity as a fitting tribute to Jen.
Kez said: “Jenny was a very inspiring person who always tried to help people less fortunate, even in her last few days putting others before herself.
"Team Jen was started by many of Jenny’s friends and family to help and inspire people to get active.”
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager Hannah Worrall said: “Team Jen is just inspiring, there have been so many great ideas, with lots more still to come.
“Selling decorated mugs is my favourite idea so far, such a clever way to do something a bit different!
A massive thank you to Kez and the team – their support does so much to help the families CLIC Sargent supports.
