Matalan staff get their wigs on to support CLIC Sargent

Matalan employee, Annie, encouraged colleagues at Matalan Bury St Edmunds to fundraise for CLIC Sargent after her grandson was diagnosed with Wilms' Tumour earlier this year. A CLIC Sargent Support Worker and CLIC Sargent have been helping to support Annie's daughter and her family since the diagnosis.

Annie's daughter said: “Their amazing care and support both financially - by providing small grants to assist with the extra travel expenses - and emotionally, through counselling for the whole family has helped immensely at this traumatic time.”

Lisa, Manager of the Bury St Edmunds store, said: “We’re really excited to show off some fabulous wigs and raise as much money as possible for CLIC Sargent, a charity which has given valuable support to the grandson of one of our employees.

CLIC Sargent Fundraising Manager, Daisy Turner said: “Wig Wednesday is a great opportunity for schools, businesses, universities and communities to raise money and support children and young people with cancer and we are thrilled the staff at Matalan are taking part.”
