Friends, Superintendent Pharmacist at Parson Drove Pharmacy, Paul Hempsall and Counsellor Michael Humphrey from the Fenland District Council, have worked together to raise £1,218.50 for CLIC Sargent.
Collections at the past two Fenland District Council’s Christmas carol services have raised £418.50 for CLIC Sargent. The Parson Drove Pharmacy raised a further £800 by setting aside the cash from the first sale every day over a year.
Paul said: “The staff would like to thank all our customers who, by using the pharmacy, have enabled us to help such a worthy charity. Having lost my own father to cancer, it is great to be able to help families who have to face its challenges.”
Counsellor Humphrey has been a CLIC Sargent supporter for some time and also organises regular flying trips from Fenland Airfield in his plane for service users and their families.
He said: “It is a pleasure and privilege to be connected to such a great charity. It’s inspiring to see how the children face the challenge life has given them and a real treat to give them the chance to go flying.”
Councillor Humphrey and his wife Marie, joined Paul Hempsall and Dr Bharat Khetani at the pharmacy to present £1218.50 to fundraising manager, Karen Roberts, who accepted the cheque on behalf of CLIC Sargent.
Thank you to both Councilor Humphrey and Paul Hempsall for supporting CLIC Sargent.
