Since 2015, LIDL Northern Ireland (NI) and CLIC Sargent have been working together with the target to raise £150,000.
Belfast City Hall was the perfect location on the last day of September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, to say farewell and to announce that the partnership raised a staggering £272,538.
When the partnership was announced, CLIC Sargent met with 38 LIDL NI stores. We introduced Alanna, a young service user, to staff, who told them a very honest account of her own cancer story, and the help she received from CLIC Sargent.
LIDL NI has created an incredible amount of awareness of CLIC Sargent throughout Northern Ireland, with its employees organising and being involved in a wide range of events, including Zombie Runs, Superhero Days and bucket collections.
LIDL NI has been exceptional, not just for the incredible amount they raised but the awareness they created for CLIC Sargent throughout Northern Ireland. The staff were very proud to wear a CLIC Sargent t-shirt, and stand in the rain to collect funds or to shave their heads.
CLIC Sargent Fundraising Engagement Manager Fiona McCann said: "It was a pleasure to manage the LIDL NI partnership for the last two years.
"The LIDL staff were 100% committed to CLIC Sargent and proved this in the staggering amount they raised for children and young people with cancer."
