The annual Forget Me Not Ball in Cheltenham has raised £2,800 this year with £1,400 of this being donated to CLIC Sargent to help children and young people with cancer.
The ball took place at the Thistle Hotel in Cheltenham and celebrated its tenth anniversary. It was originally started by Charlotte and her sister Sharon who at the time was receiving cancer treatment. The fundraising ball now continues in her memory.
The ball attracted approximately 220 generous guests who raised additional funds through activities such as stand up bingo, a raffle and an auction.
Charlotte said: “This ball was down to my dear friend Izzi. She was the one who talked me into doing it every year and I couldn’t do it without all her help. So for that Izzi, I would like to thank you.
“We hope to see the same people next year – thank you for coming along and helping us support our chosen charities.”
Fundraising Manager for CLIC Sargent, Hannah Worrall, said: “This is such a fabulous ball held in memory of loved ones, thank you to all those who support it year on year and contributed to this years’ wonderful total.”
